Carbon Fiber Tape
Carbon fiber tape is a non-adhesive backed strip, a
material composed of carbon fiber filaments bonded
together with a resin matrix. It can be made waterproof
when combined with other materials like epoxy. The
advantages of carbon include high heat tolerances and
resistance (when combined with high heat matrix such as
epoxy resin), flexible thermal and electrical properties,
and it is 1.5 times lighter and 3 times stronger than
aluminum.
There are three types of carbon fiber tapes: plain weave
carbon fiber tape, unidirectional carbon fiber tape, and
spread-tow carbon fiber ribbon.
